p;of English abstracts in economic journals further.    The abstract is really important and many scholars who are much concerned about the  writing  skills  of  the  abstracts  have  carried  out  researches  and  analysis  on  the external factors and internal links of English abstracts. They have realized poor quality of the English abstracts written by the Chinese, analyzed the causes, and put forward the necessity of the quality control of the factors influencing the quality of English abstracts in journals or papers like the author’s English level, the editing of English abstracts, and the management of the journals (Peng taoying, Xu  yupeng, 2011). The problems have also been found such as: the improper selection of abstract types, the casual comment, the  simple  and  empty  content,  lack  of  the  basic  elements,  lack  of  hierarchy,  unclear expression  and  so  on  (Huang  Chunyang,  Chen  Hang  2005)  .  The  scholars  have  also found  out  the  writing  standard  in  terms  of  the  choice  of  discourse  structure,  voice, vocabulary and sentence pattern (Lai Peng, Wu Kerong 2011; Lan junsi, Liu bin 2002).

Chapter Five Comparative Analysis of the Results  

Based  on  the  previous  theory  and  analysis  of  the  two  databases,  the  comparative analysis  of  the  results  and  its  findings  will  be  shown  in  this  chapter.  The  detailed ideational  features  of  the  two  databases  will  be  compared  carefully  to  work  out  the distinctions of the characteristics of English abstracts in AE and EE.  

5.1 General Linguistic Features of the Two Databases 

We have made  a  comparative  analysis of the realization of ideational function  as well  as  the  general  linguistic  features  in  order  to  find  the  differences  of  the  condense degree of the information in the abstracts of the two databases.
