The results are shown in table 5-1: According  to  table  5-1,  we  can  find  that  the  average  length  of  abstracts  of  EE  is obviously higher than that of AE and to be exact, 1.5 times as that of AE. The average number of sentences in each abstract of EE is slightly higher than that of AE. There are more clauses in EE and it is almost as 1.3 times as that of AE. Though abstracts in EE have more clause complexes than that of AE, the average frequency of clause complex in each abstract is almost the same in both EE and AE. In a word, the average length of abstracts, sentences, clauses and clause complexes in EE are much longer than that of AE. In other words, the abstracts of AE have higher condense degree of information.

Conclusion 

The study has made a comparative analysis of the English abstracts in EE and AE from three aspects (transitivity processes, voice types and logical function) in order to find  the  similarities  and  differences  in  the  realization  of  ideational  function  of  the abstracts in economic journals. Based on the result, some suggestions can be provided to help the English learners and economists in writing English abstracts. In this chapter, the  major  findings  are  described  and  suggestions  are  provided,  followed  by  the limitations of the research. In  order  to  achieve  more  objective  results,  two  equal-sized  databases  are established. Based on the careful analysis and the concrete results given in the chapter five, the main findings are summarized and shown as follows: Firstly,  in  the  aspect  of  transitivity,  we  find  that:  (1)  material  and  relational processes  are  predominant  in  the  English  abstracts  of  both  EE  and  AE,  and  in  the Method  move  the  percentage  of  material  processes  are  obviously  higher  than  that  of relational processes. Material processes are the main instrument to describe the concrete and  tangible  actions  while  the  relational  processes  are  the  main  tool  to  present  the relation between the entities. In the Method move, the researchers mainly introduce the method of study and way of experiment, which means what the researchers have done to carry on the study, so the material processes are preferred.(2) The mental processes mainly occur in the Result move, with the most frequent words “we find” and active voice. That indicates that researchers both at home and abroad would like to state their research result intuitively and actively, which shows the self-confidence and responsible attitude of the researchers.
