Generally speaking, demographic characteristics such as population age structure, sex ratio, the human capital, may have effect on consumption, investment and output, and thus influence economic growth. This paper, respectively from the point of view of consumption and output, empirically analyzes the effect that demographic characteristics, including population age structure, sex ratio, and the human capital have had on economic growth, and further compare the difference of the effect between the U.S. and China.

一般来说，如人口年龄结构，性别比例的人口特征，人力资本，会影响消费，投资和产出，从而影响经济增长。本文中，分别从消费和产出的角度，实证分析了影响，人口统计特征，包括人口年龄结构，性别比例，和人力资本对经济增长，并进一步比较了美国和中国之间的效果差异。
