ABSTRACT

This dissertation studies the influence of private education on Chinese education market and its impact on Chinese students, further discussing why private education is so popular in China, and how Chinese private education company operate and develop.

本文研究了私立教育对中国教育市场的影响和对中国学生的影响，进一步探讨为什么中国民办教育是如此受欢迎，和中国的民营教育公司的经营和发展。
Research questions include: (1) What is the practical developmental background of private education companies in China? (2) What are the development situation, trend, problems and solving solutions of private companies in China under the current situation? (3) What the business mode does the private education companies should apply in order to improve their competitiveness? (4) What practical measures should be taken in order to cultivate qualified private education companies and maintain their popularity among Chinese students?

研究的问题包括：（1）在中国民办教育公司的实际发展的背景是什么？（2）有什么样的发展现状，趋势，在当前形势下中国存在的问题和解决方案的私人公司？（3）什么样的商业模式的民办教育机构应当以提高自己的竞争力？（4）有什么实际的措施应该被接受为培养合格的民办教育机构和维护他们的中国学生中普及？
Case study, questionnaires and interviews are the main research methods of this dissertation. The case of New Oriental Group, questionnaire survey of ordinary students taking part in private education and training, and the individual interviews of administrative staff, teachers and marketing personnel are the main date source which relied upon this study.
Through the major findings, some conclusions can be drawn: (1) There are a large amount of private education companies in China’s education market, while their qualities vary; (2) Private education companies are quite popular among students because of pressure result from study and career; (3) The bottleneck of private education companies in China lie in, lack of regulation, poor resources and service, profit-oriented business mode and unreasonable tuition fees.
Based on the above major findings, together with empirical studies of New Oriental Group and other private education companies with same type, this study hereby set forth some suggestions.
