Abstract
After the policy of reform and opening up, the family business has rapidly developed in the past thirty years. The family business does great contribution to the development of Chinese economy. Like family business in other countries, the average life of Chinese family business is too short, and the failure inheritance is the main reason for the bankrupt of Chinese family business. 

After 30 years development, the first family business after reform and opening up come to the period of inheritance. The successful inheritance of these enterprises is very important for Chinese economy, especially under the passed economical crisis. This research takes Zhejiang family business as the representative of Chinese family business. A questionnaire was designed to collect information from the family enterprises which have completed the inheritance or in the period of inheritance. Based on the data collected from the questionnaire, an analysis was done to find the core elements on a successful inheritance.
