Research on international crack-down of abusive and in bad faith registration of domain name
1. Introduction
Since the modern corporations have seen the huge potential value of website for e-commerce, it is very important to be sure to use trade name, trade mark or service as their domain name in order to ensure a uniform public image. It is no doubt that huge business value and advertising effect exist in domain name. （Klotz,2004）
Meanwhile, the huge business value lures many of incorporations and individuals to infringe and register domain name in bad faith, making use of the drawbacks of trade mark registration and management. According statistics, more than 33,000,000 domain names have been registered, including tens of thousands of domain names that infringe on trademarks and service marks.
Abusive and in bad faith registration of domain name has brought huge economic and credit losses for on-line customers and corporations which are infringed.
Most of countries set down to enact laws and regulations on the protection the domain name and trade mark from abuse, future of the laws and solutions on it becomes the content of the thesis. Since the protection of domain name and trade mark is relatively complex, the thesis mainly study the solutions enacted in different countries to protect domain name.
