A research on the problem of cultural integration of international students’ in US
1.0 Introduction
As a special group which brings a culture into another culture, international students have to face the challenge of a new values towards their own values, which is the so-called "culture shock". "Culture shock" simply refers to a person’s confused, anxious situation that he experiences when he is living in a country of a different culture or a different environment (Cushman 1). When international students are in new countries, they have no friend there and face an unfamiliar language environment, which makes them difficult to be accepted by local people and they are prone to have a sense of inferiority. Over time, it is loneliness which is difficult to be distracted makes some students become very eccentric. So, these students choose playing games, and some of them even drink excessively or take drugs as ways of distracting loneliness. This can be considered as the negative impact of "culture shock". Michel (2010) proposed https://www.51lunwen.org/InternationalBusinessManagement/ using the method of cultural integration to deal with cultural shock, to interact with local people positively and integrate into local cultures could reduce international students’ psychological adaptation period and help them to adapt to life of study abroad better. So how to deal with problems of culture shock and cultural integration is a major event which is related to whether international students can complete their study abroad smoothly. Juneja’s (21) study indicated that facing culture shock and cultural integration, different international students adopted different strategies and behavior. In simple terms, related behavior of international students can be divided into three categories, first is assimilation strategy, second is strategy of rejecting assimilation, third is fusion strategy. In the following contents, these three kinds of strategies were discussed and analyzed critically.

For international students who are troubled by culture shock and cultural integration, it is to adapt to foreign culture or simply keep their identities of a single culture have become the most important life decisions that international students need to make when they are studying in America. In the past, cross-cultural adaptation model was a one-dimensional model typically, namely, it was either assimilation or rejecting assimilation. And in this study, it proposed that fusion strategy may be a good idea. However, it should be noted the process of recognition of the two cultures. . If bicultural experiencers agree with the systems of two cultures at the same time, they will experience the conflict or pressure of two very different cultures and value systems. Perhaps at the beginning of this process, bicultural individuals are not aware of this cultural conflict, they will be gradually aware of their own ideological pressure and eventually resolve this conflict by failing to adapt to the situation.
