China Music Education Literaure in China, especially the music teacher training system, is a very important part of the Chinese education system. This chapter presents the literature on the music teacher training system in China. These literatures include the main related theory and the current study situation about this thesis.

Training is an organized transferring knowledge, skills, standard, messaging behaviour, and skills are regarded as the main transmission. With the changes of understanding teachers, teacher development, teacher so professional development, teacher growth, continuing teacher education, teacher education and a series of other terminology have appeared and are universally accepted so that the traditional teacher training concept is becoming more and more weakened, and a precise definition of teacher training is more difficult. At present, there are some more popular views about teacher training as the following:
1. Teacher training or teacher education usually refers to improving the ideological and political and professional quality of qualifications for teachers of primary and middle school, including diploma education and non-diploma education (new teacher training, teachers’ job training, and excellent teacher training, but generally training principals are not included in the teacher training.
2. Teacher training specifically refers to in-service teacher training, also called the teachers’ continuing education. Teacher training is called in some western countries in-service education and training of teachers (INSET). Meaning of teacher training refers to providing complete and continuous learning experiences and activities to promote the teaching profession, academic and personality development.
3. Continuing Education refers to a variety of educational activities for working personnel who have certain qualifications, and has participated in job in order to make the educators continue to update and supplement knowledge and improve the changing social and working adapting ability.
4. Continuing Education for in-service teachers in primary and secondary schools refers to improving the ideological and political quality and professional quality.
According to the above mentioned different views, in this thesis, the fourth will be taken.
Music teacher training
In the study of music education, music teacher training is the common topic by the music educational researchers in the countries all over the world. International Society for Music Education (ISME) in 1974 set up The Music in Schools and Teachers Education Commission and the first session of the seminar was held in Switzerland in 1976. The Committee considered that the music teacher education should be committed to developing high-quality music teachers and support their professional development.
