Abstract
   Ecotourism is the sustainable development of tourism industry. Since it’s emerging in the recent decade, ecotourism has evoked large attention from both scientists and industrial managers. The present article will discuss the new development of ecotourism, including its new characristics and its current situation. Strategies for the ecotourism were also analyzed.

Introduction
  Ecotourism is a new mood of tourism, which paid more attention on the sustanable development of tourism industry. In order to satisfy the need of “Be natural” and the need of protecting environment, ecotourism has demonstrated great potential in the past several years. Ecotourism was first put out by H. Ceballos Lascurain in 1983, and was officially approved in the first International Environment Congress in 1986.
  According to the statistics from World Tourism Organization, the income from ecotourism has a percentage of about 15%-20% of the total tourism income, which was a powerful demonstration of ecotourism. Many places in the world have put ‘Ecotourism’ as its advertisement, and people from all over r the world have experienced the fast development of this new tourism in recent years.
  The present work will discuss the recent research development of ecotourism around the world, and put forward some possible strategies for the development of ecotourism.

Compared with traditional tourism, ecotourism has some distinct advantages. However, developers in ecotourism would pursuit suitable profit and maintain the environmental values continually to achieve the common interests of developers, tourists and local residents. In addition, ecotourism advocates ecological management mood, in order to unifying economic interest, ecological interest and social interest. However, the implement of ecotourism has its short-term restriction effect. Carefully plan and exploitation of ecotourism should be sustainable and harmonious.
