This was emphasized by Aristotle: “humans acquire knowledge through experience and observation”(吴式颖, 2003:49) On the本论文英语论文网www.51lunwen.org整理提供 other hand, we have to take into account the students’ replies to the disadvantages of CALL in their classroom.
A. The content disappears very fast. We have not enough time to think over and take notes from the big screen. (All results pointed to this as a disadvantage)
B. We are busy taking notes and cannot pay full attention to the teachers’ explanations, because the big screen contains more information than the blackboard would be capable of.
C. The electronic power dictates, hence if no power, all the plans have to be changed.
D. Lack of communication both among students to students and students to teacher.
E. It is one way action i.e. the teacher plays the main role in the class. We have less time to practice seeking. To sharpen our language skills is the main task of the class in my opinion.
F. Sometimes, the teachers do not know how to deal with the computer technical problems.
G. Sometimes when we try to surf information online there is no Internet connection or the line reads as busy.
H. Sometimes the teachers should prepare harder for their classes. The survey results shows several experiences where the teachers just convert the content from the text book and do the explanations by reading their PPT.
I. I am easily attracted by the beautiful pictures which can lead my thoughts to wander into distraction and away from the topic which is being presented in the classroom.
K. It is difficult to see the content when I sit at the back of the room, also after a long time watching the screen, my eyes feel uncomfortable.
2.5 Results &Discussion
The academic scores in the survey came from the class of 2004 and statistics were processed by me using Microsoft Office Excel. The chart demonstrates their scores. Translation, History of English, Bible as Literature, English Poetry etc. those multi-media based subjects, these academic scores are higher than the scores of non multi-media none based subjects. In total, three classes’ scores are the same. In a deep comprising, the third term class 2 who did not use the multimedia room results hence the chart below shows the differences. There are many varieties in the results, but to be sure, the CALL teaching methodology is included. Throughout the charts, we can see the effectiveness of the CALL method in teaching English as a foreign language. (See Appendix C)
2.6 Limitations of the Study
When attempting to make generalizations or interpreting the results of such a questionnaire-based study there is always the danger of misinterpretation and subjective decision-taking in material analysis. The open question response interpretation only included ‘‘the most obvious meaning’’ of answers, trying to limit interpretative bias. The advantage of scaled statements is obviously an easier categorization of answers; however the limitation of possible answers does not provide more detailed information on why investigators gave a certain rating or how they understood the statement. I therefore understand that there might have been misinterpretation of statements on the side of the student, which lead to unrepresentative ratings. In the hope of limiting the influence of this bias, open and closed question responses were combined wherever possible in the 论文英语论文网提供整理,提供论文代写英语论文代写代写论文代写英语论文代写留学生论文代写英文论文留学生论文代写相关核心关键词搜索。
