The Influence of Environments on the English Learning of Students


I. Introduction
English is the language that the world uses most extensively nowadays. More and more Chinese know the importance of English learning. For example, the family, the school and the society, they all influence the students to learn English.
The purpose of this paper is to study the influence of the environment factors on English learning. They can help English learners to study English better, and improve their English. They are as follows.

II. The influence of the family environment
The family environment is the first and also the most important factor that students acquire knowledge. “As long as the family instructs kids to learn English with a right method, the parents of low English education to educate the kids are not worse than the high. In the English learning process, the family needs to provide a healthy, peaceful and harmonious and valid study environment for kids.” ( http://www.51lunwen.org/EnEdu.html.html A. The function of parents’ instruction
The parents should mate with the teachers to bring up a good study habit to the kids. For example, listening to English broadcast everyday, watching the English program more than an hour every week and so on. Parents need to teach the kids more to get in touch with the thing that the kids can see, can listen to, can taste, can touch and can smell. And the parents should try to give the kids the English word directly related to the real object, do not do any explanation of mother tongue. When they are playing with their kids, they could ask kids, “What is this?” Let the kids guess and use the word which they have learned to say it once again.
In addition, the parents should guide the kids to read much, say much and practice much. When they establish a study scene, they could make the old word combined with the new word skillfully in a sentence structure, carry on drilling again and again, and let the students make use of the old knowledge to carry on comprehension. At the same time, study the new things, set up the teaching procedure and knowledge structure of “gain new insights through reviewing old material”, the capable parents should talk in English with their kids as more as possible.
The parents should guide the kids to know English in the right way. They want to establish a good English study environment for kids, as well as want to make the kids know the English culture and local culture. The kids should understand that learning English is good for them. It could make them have a tool in hand. It could enhance their social ability. Kids know more culture background of English speaking countries. They could make kids open their eyes and mind. Thus, whether it is foreign culture or native culture, kids need to feel, distinguish, know and develop.
