important methods in improving the effectiveness of classroom education of an L2. Academically, it refers to the approach of L2 language teaching by emphasizing the interaction between the teacher and the learner. So, in CLT, communication is regarded as both an effective means and the ultimate goal of L2 learning. Guided by this teaching principle, the major task of the language teacher is to encourage the use of the second language by the learners to solve practical communication problems, rather than to learn the grammatical rules or textual structures of the language materials, say, vocabulary. Today, the importance of the communicative approach of teaching has been widely accepted by the academic studies and it is regarded as the most scientific and popular method for English teaching in all levels of schools. As a result, communication teaching places special emphasis on learning to communicate through purposeful interaction between the teacher and the students in the target language. Consequently, learner independence and their positive attitude towards language learning are very important to make L2 learning successful.https://www.51lunwen.org/TeachingEnglish/

早在20世纪50年代,CLT开始用于职业教育方面。但事实上并没有想象中的那么好,直到20世纪80年代,它终于被接纳为在中国的实践教学方法。今天,这种新的语言教学方法仍然在初级的试验阶段。
As early as in the 1950s, CLT started to be used in vocational education. But it was not until in the 1980s that it was finally accepted as a practical teaching methodology in China. Today, this new approach of language teaching is still on its experimental stage. And it is estimated that gradually it will become a popular teaching method in the near future and will get popularized in English teaching of high schools. Obviously, the starting point of implementing this teaching method is to understand the concept communication. Some scholars have advanced different points in defining this concept. For example, Long thought (1985) that communication can be considered as a learning task to fulfill the purpose of teaching. Others insist that communication actually reflects the readiness of the learner to cope with the practical problem in inter-personal interaction under a foreign cultural environment. From these interpretations, it is easy to conclude that the main purpose of communicative teaching of a second language is to train and promote the general ability of learners in using an L2, i.e., to communicate with an L2. It is a competence is based on the general competence of comprehending language materials. Absolutely, anyone who uses English to communicate with others will meet a communicative task. It is the then the responsibility for English teachers to guide the learners to use certain tools and skills to accomplish this communicative task. The main contents of
