摘要:本文分析了虚拟语气的使用问题,这个是作为我们中国母语学生学习的一个难点,

h for the objective and subjectivereasons.First, such research would benefit from a wider comparison of subjunctive mood.Presently, there are few studies on the SM based on the corpus, and there are almostno such researches in terms of the comparison between the LOCNESS and the CLEC.In addition, the available materials are very short; hence, the possible reasons for theerrors are simply conducted a tentative discussion subjectively. Therefore, in the laterresearch, a more full analysis should be carried out.Second, comparisons with other interlanguage and native varieties could enrichthe findings of such research. Coupled with contrastive studies of the native andtarget languages, corpus-based investigations of discourse produced by EFL learnersfrom various mother--tongue backgrounds will greatly increase our knowledge ofL1-related and universal features of Subjunctive mood usage. Thus, the discussion ofthe comparison is quite limited in terms of scope and depth. More in-depth and large-scale researches are welcomed in future study.Third, the learner corpora in t h e f i r s t p a r t o f this study provide asynchronic description of the learner language, not a diachronic study. Provided adiachronic corpus, understanding on the characteristics of Chinese learners'interlanguage could be more comprehensive. Besides, the content of the learnercorpus is concerned only with the learners' written production, excluding their oralproduction. The findings in this research are only a partial representation of thelearner language as a whole. The findings, therefore, are inappropriate to teachingspoken English.


7.5 Suggestions for Future Research进一步研究的建议

There are several suggestions for future research:(1) In the further study, more corpora could be employed to conduct much morecomplicated comparative studies in this area. Furthermore, a diachronic andsynchronic study should also be carried out to explore the students’ performance inthe acquisition of SM through their later study and to measure the level ofimprovement.(2) A larger number of learners coming from various backgrounds should beinvited to get proof for or against the applicability of TBLTA.(3) The learners attend in our experiment all the learned English for at least sixyears, that is to say, the samples in our study are not the beginner in English learning.Hence, experiments can be conducted to find whether it is effective when TBLTA isapplied to English beginners.All in all, deciding which approach to be more effective to a specific group oflearners is a rather complicated process. Great efforts should be devoted to prove theeffectiveness of various approaches of the EFL teaching in China.
