Daniel Goleman has emerged as a leading expert in emotional intelligence theory. His book Emotional Intelligence (2005) elevated emotional intelligence to a major topic of interest in scientific circles, corporations and the lay public (Bar - On, 2006). Goleman founded the Consortium for Research on Emotional Intelligence in Organizations to 'advance research and practice of emotional and social intelligence in organizations through the generation and exchange of knowledge' (Goleman, 1998).
