管理是做正确的事情,领导是履行正确的权力(Warren Bennis和彼得•德鲁克,1973)。领导是管理的核心。它基本上是主动采取行动。组织中的管理者告诉员工该做什么,需要有人直接领导、监督和激励员工。因此领导涉及确定目标,制定订单和指令,并提供监督。更有效的领导过程,是将下属的贡献实现最大利益化。领导一个组织必须承担责任,实现组织的目标,与此同时,建立一个组织氛围,有利于将员工的最大潜力激发出来。因此,每个组织都需要能够有效带领团队的领导,不仅仅是一个强大的总经理,也需要强劲的监管者和中层管理人员。按照基斯·戴维斯(1967)所说的那样,“领导是能够使员工相信自己是有创造力的人。”


Management is doing things right, Leadership is doing the right things (Warren Bennis and Peter Drucker, 1973). Leadership is at the heart of management. It is basically involved with initiating action. Someone in the organization has to tell employees what to do. Someone has to direct, lead, supervise, and motivate the employees. Thus leadership involves determining the course, giving orders and instructions, and providing supervision. The more effective the leadership process, the greater will be the contribution of subordinates to organisational goals. Leadership of an organisation has to assume the responsibility of achieving organization's goals and, at the same time, has to build an organization climate that is conducive to superior performance. Thus, every organization needs able and effective leaders at all levels, not just a strong general manager, but strong supervisors and middle managers as well. As per Keith Davis (1967) 'Leadership is the ability to persuade others to seek defined objectives enthusiastically.'


Mr John has very effective personality and good leadership skill as he is always motivated. He treats his staffs well and with respect as he starts a day with good smile and warm welcome. This is makes staffs feel as they are as important as he is for the organisation. He is always keen with the targets and motivates staffs to achieve the target and also helps staffs to overcome the set target. This shows a great leadership skill as leaders are the role models for the organisation and staffs can always be comfortable with a good leader as Mr John. Some of his leadership skills are:


Vision: A vision is not a dream; it is a reality that has yet to come into existence. Vision is tangible to leaders; their confidence in and dedication to vision are so strong they can devote long hours over many years to bring it into being. In this way, a vision acts as a force within, compelling a leader to action. Leaders have vision. They share a dream and direction that other people want to share and follow. The leadership vision goes beyond your written organizational mission statement and your vision statement. The vision of leadership permeates the workplace and is manifested in the actions, beliefs, values and goals of your organization’s leaders. It gives a leader purpose, and the power of the vision and the leader's devotion to it work to inspire others who sensing purpose and commitment, respond. Mr. John clearly knows what his main vision is and leads his staff smoothly towards achieving this goal. An effective vision for technology supports and enhances the school’s aims in terms of learning, teaching, management and administration. Technology enables a school to support personalisation and offer flexible “anytime anywhere” access. It allows for effective and secure data management.
