Version: What is your liability under the insurance contract?
We use the phrase “under+N” to express“根据” in“根据保险契约”
For example:
under this cause----根据该条款，under sales contract----根据销售合同
Some other set sentence structure:

[a] We refer to your letter of (dated)…+v-ing
[b] Referring to your letter of (dated)…+v-ing

The content of Business English is often rigid, normal and specific, so it is not appropriate to add more or reduce the original meaning in business translation. Therefore using set sentence structures can make business translation more precise and easier.
Since contracts stipulate the rights and obligations for both parties and serve as the evidence for solving the disputes, they are also expressed in long sentences sometimes.
Example 7: If a written agreement for the extension of the period of existence of the JVC is not signed by three years prior to the expiration of the then current period of existence, the JVC shall terminate at the end of such current period of existence and the provisions of clauses 4.5 and 4.6 shall then apply.

Although this sentence is a little long, it expresses the full and exact information of the contract.
The content of business contracts is serious and specific, so free enlargement or reduce of the meaning of the original is forbidden in business translation.

Ⅲ. Feasible Criteria in Business English Translation
Although BE translation criteria are not exactly the same as those of literary translation, they also firstly stress faithfulness. (Bell, 2001) On the basis of former discussion and research, it is advisable that BE translation should be in accord with “faithfulness, preciseness, and conventionalization” in general.
However, BE is related to vast business fields and it includes variety of text types so criteria of BE translation may vary more or less to the others for different text type employs its own distinct features. (Edwin, 2004)
Take advertising English for example, its language is a little bit different from that of other classifications of BE. And its translation is to serve the purpose of attracting more consumers. Thus, it is possible that criteria for advertising English translation may to some degree deviate from any aspect of the above criteria we are going to talk about. But the fact is that no matter how active translation of Business English advertisements could be, it has to, in the first place, conform to faithfulness.
Since everything includes both universality and particularity, it is the same with criteria of BE translation. Apart from its particularity, the following part is devoted to discussion of criteria of BE translation in general.
3.1 Faithfulness
By faithfulness in BE translation it refers to that the message of SL is correctly expressed in TL, it does not require that the grammar and sentence structure in SL should be the same as those in TL. Besides, cultural transmission should also be taken into consideration if necessary since international business happens across borders.
