1.0 Introduction

In recent years, especially after the Second World War, human rights have become the global leading values. A sequence of human rights documents established by the United Nation, especially “Universal declaration of Human Rights” and International covenants of human https://www.51lunwen.org/canadaassignment/ rights, has won a worldwide support and high evaluation. AS we all know, China was a strong country in Asia before, when all countries in Asia took China as the standard, while contemporarily, western countries have become the world wide standard. Most of the developed countries are now located in the west, and they share the same culture and religion, which makes it easy for them to reach an agreement on human rights. And good systems don’t necessarily ensure human rights, for example, Liberia imitates America’s laws, while it is still one of the poorest countries in the world. And this is a persuasive proof that human rights are based on the fundamental livelihood. Ddifferent cultures have different moral codes so there is no object truth in morality. This report analyses the differences of western countries and developing countries, and concludes how to reach an agreement.

On the problem of how to tackle the generality and multiculturalism, the regulations of the United Nations are a product of compromise. It reflects the requirement of developing countries and also reflects the basic position of Western countries. And by the standard, developing countries and western countries can cope with their own domestic affairs, which surely cause more disagreement and conflicts. In order to solve the problem, it is not effective to hurry, and both sides need to repeatedly go through dialogue and consensus, in order to reach mutual understanding and respect. And it is the best to reach an agreement, and acknowledge a human standard which can be accepted by various cultures at the maximum limit. As the only organization to facilitate this kind of dialogue, the United Nations should create chances, provide places and promote the realization of dialogues. Developing countries have contributed a lot in exploring the way to human rights dialogue, and enriching international human rights concepts. And the developing countries are representatives in history, culture, and economy. Developing countries make up an important part in world civilization. And human rights concepts of people in these countries are representative. Although divergence still exists, all of the nations in the world should make efforts to make an agreement, understand and respect each other.
