摘要:本研究选取淄博地区五所中学的英语教师作为调查对象。其中有两所中学要求教师必须撰写教学日志,并定期检查,这两所中学共有21名英语教师;其它三所中学建议教师撰写教学日志,但不做检查,共有33名教师。

中学英语教师撰写教学日志的情况及反思意识调查

作者采用调查问卷的方法,旨在了解这五所中学英语教师撰写教学日志的情况以及教师反思意识的强弱;通过调查研究,结果显示:淄博地区初中英语教师的反思意识并不高,大部分教师没有撰写教学日志,而撰写教学日志的教师中也有相当一部分教师只是为了应付学校检查。
1.Introduction
A new round of Educational reform put forward higher requirement on teachers,it requires teachers to enhance Lifelong Consciousness of self development and the main performance is to reflect constantly.Reflection has great significance on teachers’self development,because the process of teachers’self development is just the process of active learning and improving.Its meaning lies in the change of teachers’behavior,and this kind of change comes from teachers’inner heart.Therefore,we can say that teachers’self development is just the process of self reflection.Teaching journal as one kind of reflective teaching is receiving more and more attention.
Journal,a means of self expression,has a very long history.Since long ago,journal has been considered to be one of effective ways for education and learning.I is a means by which teachers can continually record and describe the experiences which have reflective and research values in their teaching.By writing teaching journals,teachers can update their concepts,increase their skills and promote their professional development.At the same time, it also reflects teachers’thinking process and habits and helps teachers to remember.The writing of teaching journal is not only inseparable from the teachers’knowledge structure, teachers’professional quality,but also inseparable from teachers’practice.However,it may be written differently because of different teachers,so it has no general quantitative criteria.
Richards and Lockhart(2000)treat teaching journal,teaching reports,surveys,questionnaires and lectures as“several class survey methods which are commonly used”and point out there are two advantages to write teaching journal:First,it can retain the significant events in the teaching process for future reflection and record the thinking at that moment.Second,the writing process is just the process of finding problems.
Teaching journal is one of the effective methods which can help teachers to examine their teaching activities;it can narrate teachers’professional life and record the reflection of teaching activities.By writing teaching journals,teachers can explore the value of the events that they have experienced in educational activities,and record the events that happened on them and the significance of these events,all these could improve teachers’educational practices and enhance their professional qualities.
