Happiness: being moved by the Tiny Things in my Life
       We are searching for happiness all the time, but what do we really find out? We are always dissatisfied with the difference between imaginary happiness and reality, and rarely do we feel happy in our mind.  We focus on our imaginary happiness and ignore the tiny things around us. Later, I stopped to think that maybe life is like this. I have too many extravagant hopes, greed, hungers yet this doesn’t lead to happiness, I am straying from the right direction to happiness.
       Taking myself as an example, when I was a child my parents doted on me because I am the only child in my family before I was 17 years old. I could get everything I wanted at that time and I thought I was the most heavenly child in this world. However, as I grew up, more and more new things entered my mind, such as a new PlayStation, a new laptop, a new car, and my desire for these things almost doubled compared to what it was in the past. I began to compare with others on a financial basis, I wanted to get everything that others had but which I didn’t have. I think if I can get them, I will be happy. Even I wanted to be a billionaire overnight. I was addicted to comparing what I had to others and I rarely felt happy.
       When I was confused and lost, my girlfriend who is a beautiful and naïve girl told me that happiness is actually very simple: ” Have a grateful heart and catch the moment when our heart is thrilling. Keep your eyes on the tiny beauties around you.” For her, happiness is when she sees an old lady who is living in a neighboring house, walking her dog every morning. My girlfriend said she was moved by the sense of simplicity, leisure and comfort the old lady had. My girlfriend owned a kind of delicate happiness among this feeling. To my surprise, this little thing in life is a kind of happiness, and this one was precisely something that I always overlooked. I just didn’t realize that I didn’t notice happiness before.
       When I was a high school student, I had to walk to school every day. I walked on the same sidewalk and passed the same crosswalk, every day, day after day. One day. I just looked back accidentally when I was waiting for the traffic light to change. There was a construction site behind me due to the campus’s expansion. Everything was toppled. Suddenly, I found there were two old willow trees that were totally preserved. It was said that these two trees had stood there for many years since my school had established. It just like that my heart stopped and everything had moved from my sight at that time: their soft, light green branches were budding, and the breeze gently swaying the branches. At that time, I felt the trees extreme beauty at that moment.
       Strangely, I was deeply moved by that scene. It was just like my first time talking with a nice girl on whom I have a secret crush. There was an indescribable joy within me for a whole day at that time. It was a very ordinary day as usual, but it also seemed unusual: because I had been moved by a tiny thing for a whole day.
