In an increasingly competitive global business environment, an understanding of cultural values is of vital importance for business success. Do you agree?

Introduction
Business has become increasingly international, crossing boundaries and cultures in the past few decades.

The meaning of culture is complex it includes knowledge, belief, art, morals, law, custom, and any other capabilities and habits that are acquired by a person as a member of society (Adler, 2002 p.23). The global business does not mean entering every country in the world. Global market could be defined as widening business horizons to encompass the world in scanning for opportunity and threat (Keegan, 2003 p.10).

In this debate, Some people argues that cosmopolitan market can not been influenced by the cultural values, however the others claim that the international commerce could be affected by cross-cultural market environment and this essay present that the understanding of cultural values is crucial for global business success.

This is to be justified on three key factors: suitable management strategies, accurate communications plan and different product style.

I have been in Australia one month, and I have learned a useful learning skill which is self study. It means I do my learning without the help from the others. I can finish my studying independent. For example, if I want to write an essay I should find the resources and take the annotation then finish my essay personally.

Self study is different from my previous experience in China. When I was studying for bachelor degree in my country I did not use the skill of learning self. For example, if I want to write an essay and I need some resources in different realms that I should found the others friends who were professional in what I want to find. So they could help me to found what I need. I did not have to understand the knowledge that I did not know before. Self study makes me so independent and improves my skill of studying it means if I do not know the knowledge which I need in my research that I have to study the new knowledge by my self, as a result I understand more information than before. However, there is not a conflict between self study and team work. The members in a team who also need self study and must have a high level to help the team instead of depend on the other members who are working in the same team.

By self study, I know that I can do my business without the help from the others so it make me much more confident. I can communicate with others better than before. If I am working in a team I know what I should to do but not just depend on the others. In a strange environment I do not feel helpless I could learn how to adapt to new condition by self study.
