set is compared to the original data set on file, then it is either accepted or rejected. Most authentication systems grapple with this False Rejection Rate/False Acception Rate. Simply put, authorized users shouldn't be rejected and unauthorized users shouldn't be accepted. However, no system has been created that is 100% accurate.

With this new technology, it is possible that we would never have to remember another PIN or password or sign for anything again. Everything that we have access to can be tied to a single key. Digital fingerprints are more convenient and less intrusive than most of the other biometric methods, plus they are already accepted as a immutably unique identifier. Life would be simple again. That is, until someone finds a way to steal your identity.

What is needed before this or any other biometric is used is the establishment of regulations and good encryption and verification methods that can assure us that our information remains safe during its transit and that we can be authenticated without compromising our privacy.

In traditional fingerprint access systems, an individual attempting to access a protected resource places their finger on a fingerprint sensor/reader at an access point such as a door or computer. The sensor reads the fingerprint and transmits the image, typically to a server, where it is compared against a database of stored fingerprints. If the live print matches a stored print, the indi英语论文网 【http://www.51lunwen.org】vidual is permitted access.

Fingerprint entry systems represent significant security advancements over proximity cards or passwords because they physically prove each user's identity.

The software in the mobile phone is standards-compliant and has an open systems architecture, which means customers are not tied to one technology or device. This broad hardware device support allows customers to mix and match biometric technologies – such as fingerprint recognition – to meet their unique security needs. It also gives customers the flexibility to use cheaper or better devices as they become available.

The mobile phone security problems, as most businesses, the only security measure that protects sensitive corporate data from unauthorized access is Windows passwords. However, simple Windows passwords are too easily compromised. While stronger password policies are possible, workers push back as they find it difficult to use longer, more complex passwords that change frequently. Businesses have traditionally been left with two options: Live with less secure corporate data. Or, implement a stronger Windows password policy and lose productivity as workers struggle with difficult-to-remember passwords and call the helpdesk.

Biometrics is the good for mobile phone security solution, replace the password with a biometric, such as a fingerprint, which cannot be lost, shared or stolen. It’s simple. It’s secure!
