交际法英语教学是一个比较新的方法。在语言教学中的传统观念中沟通是一个专用名词。它有其特定的功能,形式和教学步骤。英语教学中存在各种用解决沟通的问题,其中有一些好的方法去解决,学生的生活和学习经验可以与现实的环境来结合,并且可以激发学习者的兴趣和参与。

The communicative approach of English teaching is a comparatively new approach. Communication is a special term in language teaching and it's different from the traditional concept of learning a second language. It has its specific features, forms and teaching steps. There are varieties of purposes in English teaching, but the focus of every purpose is to solve a communicative problem, which has some connections with a real world of learners' lives and learning experience, and which can arouse learners' interest and participation. Thus, this approach of learning encourages the participation of students in classroom interaction by allocating different communicative tasks in the class. The effect of this teaching approach lies mainly in the awareness of training the learners’ communicative competence rather than the mechanic memory of the grammatical rules by the means of pattern drills. The advantage of this teaching approach is obvious, i.e., it is helpful in promoting the overall language competence compared with such traditional approaches as Test-oriented Teaching Approach and the Grammar-translation Approach. A case study is presented in this essay in order to prove the advantage of the communication-based teaching. The case, which is the comparison between two approaches of English language teaching, reflects the effectiveness of the communicative approach of teaching of English as a second language and also the generally-accepted procedures of conducting such an approach in the classroom settings. As a result, the aim of this dissertation is to disclose the basic principles for communicative approach of teaching. 


In the study of the competence of language acquisition, the ability of communication has long been considered as a core linguistic capacity of the learners. In English pedagogy, the communicative approach of English education is thus regarded as one of the most effective methodologies because such an approach best represents the method of nurturing a communicative competence of the learners by assuming that they were in a real circumstance of communication when using the English language. As a result, the communicative approach of English teaching, to the ultimate degree, tries to eliminate the formalness of the classroom settings and intends to imitate what is happening in real communication. This can be considered as the chief principle of the communicative approach of English teaching. So, experienced English teachers, especially in teaching oral English, tries to train the communicative competence of the learners by designing a series of tasks that are intended to nurture the language feelings of the learners. And it is in this regard that communicative teaching is a specific method that is set for the purpose of training learner’s comprehensive competence other than the ability to speak.
