A case study is presented in this essay in order to prove the advantage of the communication-based teaching. The case, which is the comparison between two approaches of English language teaching, reflects the effectiveness of the communicative approach of teaching of English as a second language and also the generally-accepted procedures of conducting such an approach in the classroom settings. As a result, the aim of this dissertation is to disclose the basic principles for communicative approach of teaching. 


In the study of the competence of language acquisition, the ability of communication has long been considered as a core linguistic capacity of the learners. In English pedagogy, the communicative approach of English education is thus regarded as one of the most effective methodologies because such an approach best represents the method of nurturing a communicative competence of the learners by assuming that they were in a real circumstance of communication when using the English language. As a result, the communicative approach of English teaching, to the ultimate degree, tries to eliminate the formalness of the classroom settings and intends to imitate what is happening in real communication. This can be considered as the chief principle of the communicative approach of English teaching.
