Chapter 1 Introduction


这是众所周知,英语中起着一个合租重要作用,我国国同学小学到大学,LEAM它作为一个主要的主题。然而,很多学生不能学习。在高级中学深圳市光明新区,在这里笔者把她的教学实践中,这种现象非常突出。由于诸多原因,40%到60%的学生成为有学习障碍的学生在英语学习中,许多人失去了学习英语的兴趣和信心,一些人甚至放弃学习英语。一点一点地,这些学生成为家庭和学校的负担,甚至整个社会。本论文,在深圳市光明新区高级中学研究的基础上,试图找到原因导致学生的学习障碍和转型战略,以改善这些学生学习他们的英语能力。It is well known that English plays a vey important role in our country; studentsfrom primary school to university have to leam it as a main subject. However, lots ofstudents can not study it well. In the Senior High School of Guangming District,Shenzhen, where the author took her teaching practice, this phenomenon is veryprominent. Because of many reasons, 40 percent to 60 percent of the students becomestudents with learning disabilities in English study, many of them lose interest andconfidence to study English, some of them even give up learning English. Little by little,these students become the burden of the family and the school, even the society. Thisthesis, based on the research in the Senior High School of Guangming District,Shenzhen, tries to find the reasons which cause students' learning disabilities and thetransformation strategy to improve these students study their English.


1.1 Background of the Study
Learning disabilities often appear related only to specific skills, rather thanaffecting skills overall. For example, an individual may have problems processingspoken language but can read, write, and perform math without problems; a person withreading disability may have difficulty decoding but is able to process well what is heard.At present, although several investigations and researches have shown that nearlytwenty percent of the school students in the world may experience some forms oflearning disabilities when they study English. In recent years,a huge achievement hasbeen got by explorations and studies to solve this problem, however, the number ofstudents learning English with disabilities is increasing year by year. So, how to helpthese students improve English seems very meaningful.


1.2 Significance of the Study
Some English language learners experience difficulty in making expected progressin English as a second language (ESL) classes, in showing progress on assessmentmeasures. Little by little, they will lose confidence in English learning; some of themeven give up learning English. According to the research, the number of students withEnglish learning disabilities is increasing year by year, especially in the senior highschools in China. If the causes of the problems that why students have disabilities in English study are found, teachers can find an appropriate way to help students improveEnglish in time.This thesis, on the basis of the present situation of China's English Education,makes a comprehensive investigation and analysis about the causes of learningdisabilities in the Senior High School of Guangming District, Shenzhen,to prevent andeffectively transform it. More specific and effective methods will be put forward in thisthesis, in order to improve the learning ability and overall quality of the students withlearning disabilities in the Senior High School of Guangming District, Shenzhen,What's more, this thesis will play a very active and effective role in enhancing theiracademic achievements.
