在IT文献中，IT术语占有举足轻重的地位,因此对IT术语的翻译工作将起着越来越重要的作用。本文目标就是通过对IT术语的理论和实例分析，得出一些规律和翻译标准，为IT术语的翻译提供参考，促进IT技术的引进。

 本文的研究主体为IT 术语，将通过科技领域最常用的术语研究方法进行系统分析,众所周知，这四大研究方法分别为：transliteration (音译法), free or literal translation (意译法), sound-meaning combination translation (音意结合译法), image translation (意象译法)和zero translation (零翻译法)。

通过理论分析，我们将认识到各个译法的特点,通过实例分析，我们将得出各个译法针对IT术语的翻译策略及原则。通过分析我们得出以下结论：（1）IT术语具有其自身特点，(2)各译法都具有针对性并且翻译时都需要讲究一定策略，（3）信息技术的快速发展使得新术语的翻译较难统一，（4）好的翻译需要和中国传统文化相结合。

通过本文，作者希望能引起其他翻译者对这个项目的关注和重视，并期待进行更多的相关研究。IT技术时时都在变化，我们需要在最短的时间内得到最前沿的信息技术，为祖国的经济发展服务，使社会从中受益。

Abstract

Since the first computer, ENIAC’s birth, computer has been become a friend and necessary tool for people. With the rapid development of science and technology, we’ve been living in the Information Age. AtIn the information age, information technology plays a more and more important role in the development of many fields and IT industry comes with the tide of fashion. IT industry has become a rising industry with strong vitality now. Almost every country in the world has attached great importance to its development. It’s well known that IT originated from the developed country such as USA, so if we want to import advanced technology, the massive translation is required.

In IT documents, IT terms play an especially important role. So we need to focus more on the translation of IT terms. This research aims at finding some rules and principles based on the theoretical and practical analysis of IT terms in order to provide guidance to its translation and promote the import of information technology.
IT terms, as the object of this research, will be analyzed through the five mainly used methods in researching scientific and technical terminology, which are transliteration, free or liberal translation, sound-meaning combination translation, image translation and zero transltiontranslation.

Through critical analysis, we will know some characteristics of each translation approach; through practical analysis, we will find some strategies and principles of each translation approach and the conclusion comes to: (1) IT terms has its own characteristics, (2) each translation approach is suitable for special kind of IT terms and it’s important to use some strategies in translating, (3) it becomes harder and harder to unify the IT terms’ aliases, (4) good translators need to keep aware of Chinese traditional culture.

Through the research, the author hopes that this research can provide useful experience and help raise the interest of other translators. I also expect that further research on IT term translation could be done in the near future.
