1. Introduction
The Oedipus complex is a theory referred to the depressed desire of a son to unite his mother while feeling rivalry with his father and killing his father. (Kirszner & Mandell, 2006: 2212) According to Freud, all young boys go through this stage.
From the Psychoanalytical criticism, it seems to suggest that the young prince, Hamlet, suffers from the Oedipus complex. But he could not kill his father as this would violate moral principle on patricide and entail disaster for him. Yet if someone else kills his father, he could feel more than happy. But the son would have to avenge his father on the criminal, which is another way of saying that he would be 本论文英语论文网www.51lunwen.org整理提供denouncing and hunting himself to the kill. This is why, as the psychoanalytic says, Hamlet puts off his fatal strike at his uncle.
For Zhou Ping, although he is not involved in the trouble of revenge, his hatred to his father, his incestuous behavior with his step-mother, just like Fanyi’s question to Zhou Ping that if he has forgotten what he told her there in that very room, in the middle of the night. Because Zhou Ping said he hated his father. He said he wished his father were dead. He said that even the prospect of putting himself beyond the pale wouldn’t deter him from loving Fanyi. It has embodied Zhou Ping’s Oedipus complex.
Both of Hamlet and Zhou Ping are the sufferers of the Oedipus complex, which is sure that there are some similarities between them, at the same time some differences also exist undoubtfully.

2. Similarities
Referring to their similarities, we can analyze from the following aspects, which contain the unconsciousness, the Oedipus complex, the depression and the replacement.

2.1. The unconsciousness
The definition of the unconsciousness is the core portion of the system of the psychoanalysis, which is the foundation of Freud’s theory. The unconsciousness contains the original impulse and instinct of an individual. It also includes the desire related to the instincts after one’s birth. All the impulse and desire are in conflict with the moral tradition, conduct and the law. They are depressed and repelled under the valve of the unconscious. However, they act actively to fulfill their desire unconsciously instead of being disappear. (Freud, 1984: 337, with my translation)
Hamlet’s love letter, which Polonius reads, is a curious composition, which is with its stilted prose and bad verse. For once, one must agree with Polonius, who immediately sets himself up as a critic style that the word beautified is an extremely disgusting phrase. It suggests the use of make-up, the “plastic’’ ring art, to show the term Hamlet will employ later. It is generally agreed that the love letter is part of Hamlet’s pretence of madness on the grounds that, unless it were contrived, the scholarly Hamlet could never have written it. Certainly it is consistent with the portrait of a lovesick Hamlet. He has been stricken heavily by his mother’s marriage with his uncle. His love letter to Ophelia is also a pretence of his unconsciousness. Although he could not confess he has loved his mother, for that is a challenge to the moral. Nevertheless, the first two lines of verse may have some special significance: “Doubt thou the stars are fire, Doubt that the sun doth move” (W. Shakespeare, 2005: 90) We can find here evidence that Hamlet, after his crushing discovery of great evil, has lost his faith in traditio论文英语论文网提供整理,提供论文代写英语论文代写代写论文代写英语论文代写留学生论文代写英文论文留学生论文代写相关核心关键词搜索。
