A. About the writer
Hemingway, Ernest (1899-1961), one of the most famous American novelist, short-story writer and essayist, was the winner of the 1954 Nobel Prize for Literature. Still a teenager, Hemingway volunteered for war work and was wounded on the Italian front in 1918, the basis for his first major book A Farewell to Arms (1929).
