摘要:The idea of a woman fighting against the odds to become independent and successful on her own is not too far to achieve. She is not only successful in wealth and position, but also in family and love.

. it is not unimportant to Woman that even this species of equality was awarded her. Before, she could be condemned to perish on the scaffold for treason, not as a citizen, but as a subject."(Margaret Fuller, Women in Nineteen Century, 1844, p 7)
Jane Eyre was brave and also an honest woman and she still struggled bravely and dauntlessly for her own ideal under the bad environment. Along with various living conditions and the life experience growth, her disposition gradually grew, and it formed a new feminine image which struggled independently and unceasingly in front of the readers. Through analysis the character-Jane Eyre, we could understand that the woman can find the true love and the sense of belonging so long as they did not submit to the social class and the sex prejudice, and did not approve the oppression, or the status which controls them. Through this woman, we could also understand what the chase of charlotte is, what kind of woman she wants to be.
3.2 Emily and Her Attitude towards Woman’s Sense of Independence
Emily Bronte wrote only one work in her life, that is Wuthering Heights. With her pen, she gives the courage to women to fight for equality. It is this one work shows her inner heart. Cathy and Catherine, though given the same names, as are two kinds of people. Cathy has one foot in the past, seeking both tradition and adventure, while Catherine is independent.  Her work could breath, it is a real life, and it is sparkling with the wisdom of women’s sense of independence.

 3.2.1 Her Life Experiences.
Emily Bronte was born on 30 July 1818 at 74 Market Street in Thornton, Bradford, and Yorkshire, England. She was the fourth daughter of Maria Branwell (1783-1821), who died of cancer when Emily was just three years old and Irish clergyman Patrick Bronte (1777-1861).
In 1824, Emily, with her four sisters entered the Clergy Daughter’s School at Cowan Bridge, near Kirkby Lonsdale. When Maria and Elizabeth died there a year later of tuberculosis, she and Charlotte returned home to Haworth. Their father was a quiet man and often spent his spare time alone, so, the motherless children entertained themselves reading the works of William Shakespeare, Virgil, John Milton, and the Bible and played the piano, did needlepoint, and told each other stories.
Emily seems to be the most special girl in her sisters. She never loved a man, even avoid them. But in her work, the relationship was very complex and the love was very crazy. Maybe she just loves her creative. Maybe she wanted to have an equal love but could never achieve that made her such different.
3.2.2 Her Works
Emily Bronte wrote Wuthering Heights, which was very famous. The characters of this work showed her opinions. What the real independence or equality is.

As members of wealthy families, the Earnshaws and the Lintons were in the somewhat precarious place of the late 18th and early 19th century of British society.  At the top of the British Society was the royalty, then the aristocracy, and then by the gentry, and followed by the lower classes, who make the majority of the population. The Earnshaws and the Lintons are the members of gentry, while Heathcliff was obviously the lower class. The inequality between the two kinds of people results in the later conflicts. Considerations of class status often influenced t论文英语论文网提供整理,提供论文代写英语论文代写代写论文代写英语论文代写留学生论文代写英文论文留学生论文代写相关核心关键词搜索。
