All the problems which came with not knowing have been reduced. Globalization has brought open mindedness to the world. Messages are being sent through different types of music, getting people out of sticky situations. It has made communications much easier. Scientific discovery has helped us learn about our history, which minimizes the mysteries of our traditions and cultures. It has also improved our health and well-being and advanced cultural development. For example in the arts and music sectors. Modern transportation has brought closer through tourism sports and internet. Instant communication has made it possible to organize resistance against oppression and break the monopoly of governments over media. Young people communicate so broadly today that they are narrowing the cultural gap that had divided previous generation.

I live in Ethiopia. .It’s a country that was particularly isolated from the rest of the world until just about a hundred years ago. It is home to an ancient civilization and multi-cultural diversity. Addis Ababa, the capital city of Ethiopia is a great example of how globalization is affecting traditions and cultures. You can find a variety of cuisines which were unknown before. Everywhere you go you see people wearing jeans instead of the usual traditional clothes. Jeans is not part of the Ethiopian culture; it’s just something that came from globalization. Here we have our own language called Amharic, with our own alphabets and numbers. But when we go to school we are taught in English. Amharic is now also borrowing quite a lot of words from English for daily usage. The favourite sports teams for the young in Addis are clubs like Liverpool and Arsenal instead of local teams.
