But for a long time, the education in our country put emphasis on the knowledge andintellectual development but ignored students’ emotional development, which makes the related researcheson anxiety very scarce and not deep enough. Most of their study objects are the overseas students in China,or domestic English major or non-English major college students, rarely involve the high school students,especially the Grade One students in Senior High School. In addition, they only analyzed the correlationbetween anxiety and some aspects of English skills, while little attention is focused on the factors causinganxiety. Thus it deserves to be researched more than ever. In China, English language leaning is mainlyrealized through formal situation that is classroom. So it is very necessary to have an investigation on theGrade One students in Senior High School in terms of English classroom anxiety.This
thesis aims at investigating the status of the anxiety of Grade One students in Senior High Schoolin their English learning, and exploring some related factors resulting in the learning anxiety, so thatteachers can get some useful information from the study to assist their teaching, for the purpose ofcultivating students’ interest in English and achieving better in their English learning.
1.3 An Overall Structure of the Paper 本硕士论文的结构
This thesis consists of five chapters.Chapter one is an introduction, the author gives a brief introduction of the paper, including thebackground of the study, the research motivation and objectives, and the organization of the thesis.Chapter two is a comprehensive
literature review, including the relevant theories to the anxiety inforeign language learning context and a review of precious studies, which provides theoretical support forthe present study.Chapter three presents the design including research questions, participants chosen for the study,research methods and procedures. At the end of the chapter, the procedure of data collection and analysis ispresented.Chapter Four presents the results of the research both in questionnaire and interview. The results areconcerned about general situation of anxiety in English learning and the main causes of English classroomanxiety in this study.In the last chapter, the author generalizes the main findings and then presents the implications andlimitations of the study.
