摘要:本文是高中英语论文,Famous linguist Krashen (1982) once said that "listening comprehension is the firstimportant thing in language learning". However, Due to the lack of foreign languagelistening and speaking environment, listening and speaking ability become the weak linkin foreign language learning in China.

5.1 Material Selection
The teaching material is the most fundamental part of teaching practice.Movie-assisted listening teaching as a new instructional mode is not very perfect. Theresearch on this mode is still at a primary stage. As this research aimed to use movie clipsin senior high school students’ listening ability developing, how to select the Englishmovie becomes the first problem should be considered. Teachers should pay attention tothe following aspects:Firstly, although audio-visual listening materials could stimulate students' learninginterests, it should be realized that movies with lower pronunciation quality and higherstory-telling pace would not have good effects on students' research. So teachers shouldchoose the movie with high quality of pronunciation and lower speaking pace for listeningability training.Secondly, teachers should know clearly about students' age and developmental stagebefore they design the listening activities. Teachers should try their best to design thelistening tasks which is suitable for the students' cognitive level.Thirdly, the content of the movie should not be too easy or too difficult. According toKrashen's Input Hypothesis, only when the language input is a little bit more advancedthan the students' own language level, will arise their natural language acquisition(Krashen, 1986). This could be supported by Gabrielatos's (1998: 56), his suggestion:"texts for native speakers of the same age may be too demanding, but simplifiedpedagogical texts should at least try to simulate them".

Conclusion
This research made exhaustive reviews about the previous researches on usingEnglish movies as English listening teaching materials. Based on these previous, theresearcher found that most of them focus on the research based on college and university.They seldom focus on the research of this topic for senior high school, therefore, thepresent research aimed to find the practical effect of this new teaching approach in seniorhigh school.In order to make the research more reliable, the researcher used both qualitative andquantitive methods in the research. The researcher also used questionnaires, interviews tocollect students and teachers’ attitudes towards the research. The teaching practice processis the most important part of the research. It consists of pre-watching, while-watching andpost-watching teaching activities. In the part of post-waching, the researcher usedvocabulary and comprehension tests to exam students’ listening comprehension. After theresearch, the researcher used Spss to analyze the statistic data of the research. With thehelp of the result data, the researcher obtained the suggested findings as the following:
