ents in class From  table  4-1,  we  can  see  the  total  points  of  each  item  of  the  184  participants. And  the  mean  points  of  all  the  19  items  that  measured  English  teachers’  perception  of their  autonomy-supportive  behaviors  is  3.0475,  while  the  means  points  of  English teachers’  perception  of  their  autonomy-controlling  behaviors  is  1.9320.  It  indicates  that English  teachers  perceive  that  in  their  classes,  they  adopt  more  autonomy-supportive behaviors  than  autonomy-controlling  behaviors  to  the  students.  This  is  the  general  and background  condition  of  English  teachers’  perception  of  their  autonomy-supportive behaviors. Conclusion 

In  this  chapter,  the  major  findings  of  the  study  will  be  firstly  summarized. Then the implication to the teachers as well as to the researchers in this field will be presented. At last, the limitation of the research and suggestions for further study will be proposed.The  focus  of  this  study  is  teachers’  autonomy-supportive  behaviors.  It  is conducted  from  three  perspectives.  The  first  is  English  teachers’  perceived autonomy-supportive  behaviors  in  classes.  The  second  one  is  English  teachers’ autonomy-supportive  behaviors  in  practice.  And  the  third  perspective  is  the comparison between English teachers’ perceived autonomy-supportive behaviors and that  in  practice,  as  well  as  the  reasons  of  the  differences.  The  major  findings  of  the study are listed as follows: First,  generally  speaking,  English  teachers  perceived  that  they  adopt  more autonomy-supportive  behaviors  than  autonomy-controlling  behaviors  in  class.  For autonomy-supportive  behaviors,  English  teachers  perceived  that  the  most  commonly used  form  is  fostering  students’  understanding  and  interest.  The  second  commonly used form is allowing criticism and independent thinking.
