Conclusion
The conclusion of this study can be summarized in this chapter. First of all, the chapter presents the statement of major findings. Next there are the pedagogical implications for learners and teachers. At last, the implication of this study and some proposals will be introduced. The questionnaire put forward by Stapleton (2001) was applied to work out the English learners’ awareness in critical thinking essays. After writing task was carried out with writing textual analysis, the qualitative and quantitative data were analyzed with SPSS.13. Moreover, interview was arranged to look for English learners’ ideas between others and themselves. On the basis of qualitative and quantitative exploration as well as the consequence of statistics are listed in present study, the following conclusion are drawn from four sections: Firstly, with regard to questionnaire proposed by Paul (2001), the results of questionnaire indicate that English learners have certain consciousness to display the elements of their critical thoughts. They are in good position to state their voice clearly and question the viewpoints of others to some extent although they have little information of critical thinking skills. English learners have no hesitation to propose their ideas rather than in compliance with their teachers’ thoughts. The emotional factors are significant for English learners in their writing and supplied adequately with reasonable evidence. In addition, subjects believe that a clear voice supported by objective reasons which avoid vagueness and emotion although the topic is controversial. That most English learners keep objective attitude towards the ideas of teachers and experts is reflected in interview. They conceive that the ideas of teachers and experts can help them to create their own ideas when they questioned their beliefs. They have certain awareness of clarifying their ideas and criticize the ideas of others.
