The dissertation forms part of the requirements for the MSc Management. This handbook outlines the requirements of your MSc Management dissertation and how to approach it. The purpose of the project is to enable you to develop the concepts and techniques acquired during the MSc programme in addressing a management problem or issue.

1. What is an MSc Management dissertation?

The dissertation comprises written work of approximately 15,000 - 20,000 words in length, which is based upon a programme of primary or secondary research which you have conducted yourself. A broad range of topics can be investigated in your dissertation. You should start with a particular issue of interest to you (or to an organization) and one where data is readily available.  The dissertation should not simply ‘describe’ a company, organization or institution, although aspects of the dissertation may well include company information such as financial information or product/marketing information. Examiners will seek to award good grades to students who specifically address the following:

• Clear, concise summary of the purpose, scope and findings of the dissertation.

• Demonstration of initiative in pursuing the objectives of the study.

• Critical discussion of the issue, including what other authors have written

• Derivation of relevant conclusions: indicating why your study is worthwhile

• Appropriate referencing*

*You have already been provided with referencing guidelines. This information is repeated in the Annex to this Handbook – please read it again before you begin discussing what other authors have written.

2. Who is involved with my MSc Management dissertation?

An MSc Management dissertation is your own project and you must take full responsibility for its preparation and completion. It must be an individual piece of work completed solely by you. Although you may consult experts in your chosen subject area and a support team will be available to advise you, they must not assist you directly in preparing the final MSc Management dissertation.

3. Preparing for your MSc Management dissertation

The prime consideration in selecting a topic should be that your area of research matches your personal interests. Some MSc students elect to choose their own organisation or an organisation with which they have an established relationship for the basis of a management dissertation. If you have worked or are working for an organisation prior to, or during your MSc, you may be encouraged to use what you have learnt in your own organisation. This can offer excellent access to primary data and is normally acceptable provided the subject is suitable for a management dissertation.

You should consider a number of criteria when evaluating and planning your management report:

• Is the topic of interest to you?
• Do you have the skills that you will need to complete the task (e.g. research methods)?
• Do you have the reso论文英语论文网提供整理,提供论文代写英语论文代写代写论文代写英语论文代写留学生论文代写英文论文留学生论文代写相关核心关键词搜索。
