Abstract:MICE tourism is the product of the convention and tourism development to a certain stage, because of its great economic and social benefits and known as the "jewel in tourism crown." With the MICE tourism development, urban economic development has been injected new vigour; the domestic and international MICE tourism in many cities will be as an important aspect of urban economic development; therefore, MICE tourism has become a tourist hot spot of academic research (King B,Piza A,Milman A,1993). Its main feature is the theme of the content designed, the new forms of tourism, staying a long time, the large-scale team, people spending more economically efficient and the strong leading role. MICE tourism can effectively promote social, economic and cultural development, because of a lot of conventional superiority which their tourism product does not have, and it receives more and more people's favour. Therefore the author selects Shanghai which is the leading position in the domestic MICE tourism status as the study object, based on the foundation of analyzing the status of domestic and international MICE tourism development, drawing on the development of domestic and international MICE city MICE experience, and focused on the analysis of the development of Shanghai MICE status quo, and at last, the author discusses development strategies of Shanghai MICE tourism and draws the appropriate conclusions........
