Strategic Analysis of Langham Hotels Hong Kong
Executive Summary
The Langham Hotel can be characterized as a model of five-star hotels in Hong Kong. Because of the world economic crisis, hotel industries in 留学生代写站Hong Kong had been adversely affected to some extent. Though the situation turns better, hotel strategies should be taken seriously. For this purpose, this report analyzes the external and internal environments of Langham Hotel basing on its missions and objectives, Potter Five Forces and SWOT Matrix are employed to analyze the strategic environment. Finally, the report puts forward corporate level strategies, the cost leadership strategy and differentiation strategy.

1. Introduction
The illustrious Langham brand has been known as a model of the five-star hotels since its opening in London more than 140 years ago. The first Langham Hotel had its grand opening in London on June 10, 1865. The unveiling ceremony was hosted by the then Prince of Wales, marking the beginning of an eternal Langham legend. The Langham London is the first true luxury hotel in Europe, followed by The Savoy which was completed 23 years later, and Claridges which was rebuilt in 1895-1899. (Langhamhotels.com, 2010)
Today, Langham Hotels International is an international hotel management company. The Langham Hotel was originally the name of the Langham London. After being transferred several times, it is now owned by Hong Kong Great Eagle Holdings Ltd., becoming its wholly-owned subsidiary. The Great Eagle Holdings Ltd. brought a number of its hotels in the newly established hotel group, and set the original name of The Langham London as the name of the Hotel Group, and established Langham Hotels International. The current group headquarter is in Hong Kong. (Hongkong.langhamhotels. com, 2010)
The Langham Hotel Hong Kong (hereinafter “Langham”) is a leader in the local hotel industries providing excellent professional management services. The organizational mission of Langham includes not only a proper management of the hotel, and making the hotel outstanding, but also committing to provide professional management services to its business partners. To seize opportunities to extend Langham's business and market shares are aims that the group has been striving for.
