留学生论文网 the observation made that those interested in telecommuting aremost likely to be from information technology backgrounds (Huws et al., 1990),data was collected from telecommuters in IBM Australia using snow-ballsampling technique. Questionnaires were promptly completed by 18 males and25 females. Although there are unequal numbers of males and females, therewas no deliberate discrimination between the categories.Operational measures of study variables
Most of the variables were measured at interval/ratio scales. However, sincemany of the questions asked were based on telecommuters' assessments, someordinal ranking scales were developed and treated, as Agresti (1996) suggested,in a quantitative manner by assigning ordered scores to the categories.
