随着全球化的发展，汉英语码混合作为一种特殊的语言现象在中国出现并得到了许多语言学家的关注。本文首先介绍了一些著名语言学家的理论、研究成果以及一些相关的术语概念，并给语码混合这一术语下了定义，同时也进行了其与另一类似的术语——语码转换的区分。通过一些书面论文代写和口头的例子，作者总结了汉英语码混合的两大主要的使用形式——句内语码混合和句间语码混合，并在语法层面上分析了这两种混合形式的特点，最后概括了汉英语码混合的五项功能。

1. Introduction

With the rapid growth of globalization, recent years have witnessed the phenomenon of code mixing which results from language contact. As a communicative strategy, code mixing has attracted many linguists’ interest and been an area of investigation since approximately the last three decades from https://www.51lunwen.org/englishpaper/ different dimensions, including sociolinguistics, pragmatics and psycholinguistics. China’s opening-up policy, coupled with its entrance into WTO, leads to a higher frequency of language contact between Chinese and English, thus code mixing between Chinese and English arises as a special linguistic phenomenon in China. In earlier times, people imputed this linguistic behavior to the inadequacy of linguistic competence. In order to negate this point of view, Fishman (1965), the influential advocate of the study of code mixing and American sociolinguist, first advanced his domain theory and deepened people’s understanding of this phenomenon.Linguists around the world have demonstrated some relevant theories from various angles. In sociolinguistic field, Blom & Gumperz (1972) divided this phenomenon into two models: situational model and metaphorical model, which are in synchronization with Myers-Scotton’s (1988) unmarked model and marked model. Poplack (1980), considered as the first one who probed into its syntax and achieved some important findings, presented two grammatical constraint principles that she thought had universal sense: free morpheme constraint and equivalence constraint. However, Poplack’s theory was criticized for its neglecting the suitability and asymmetry of code mixing.
