摘要:根据英语专业教学大纲,英语语言学课程的一个最重要的专业知识课程,陕西省独立学院外语专业课程。然而,英语语言学教学的现状是不能令人满意的。

  本文由145全省两个典型的建学院英语专业的学生建立了独立的高年级英语专业进行抽样调查(有效问卷136份),分析数据并得出学生的学习状况和学习态度的语言学课程。我发现了一个很长的时间,当然是要教一个单一的理论知识重点,导致学生的学习动机模糊的,无效的。

  1.1 Research Background研究背景
  根据“在大学和学院英语专业教学大纲”(2005年)(以下简称“纲要”),英语专业本科课程是由3种课程:技能课程,知识课程,有东升知识课程According to “the syllabus for English majors in universities and colleges" (2005)(hereinafter abbreviated to as “outline”),the undergraduate courses for English majorsare made up of 3 kinds of courses: the skill courses, the knowledge courses and therelevant knowledge courses. English linguistics course is regarded as one of the mostimportant courses in the knowledge courses. From the papers published in the journalof foreign language teaching and research in 1987 and 1988,Hu Zhuanglin and LiuRunqing illustrated how to teach Introduction to Linguistics to college students (Hu,liu, 1987). They insist that it is indispensable to open this course to college studentsespecially to English majors.Why should students of English leam linguistics? Since linguistics is defined asthe scientific study of language,it is obvious that such a course would help a lot inlanguage teaching and learning, although there is much difference between linguisticsand language teaching or learning in their attitude towards language,https://www.51lunwen.org/languagethesis/  their goals, andtheir methods. Linguistic research is concerned with the establishment of theorieswhich explains the phenomena of language. (Hu, 2001)The object of learning the course is human language, which mainly introducesthe status and the function of the language in society, the structure of language, itsrules of evolution,the relationship between language and writing character, betweenlanguage and society etc. Through the study of the course, students are expected tosystematically master the basic linguistic concepts, theories and knowledge,furthermore to set essential foundation on improving the understanding of linguisticstheories and learning other language courses.However, linguistic theory is deep and abstract,but using language is specificand practical. How to put linguistics theories into study and life practice is a difficultprocess which requires great efforts.For a long time, the teaching of English linguistics course has been in a difficultsituation from which teachers feel hard to be free. Teachers tend to repeat what thelinguistics textbook says and students receive a smattering of linguistics knowledge.Consequently, with abstruse contents, simple teaching forms, the teaching effect oflinguistics is disappointing.According to Professor Pan Zhixin's survey (2002), the teaching aim oflinguistics course is still the introduction of linguistics theory and knowledge, whichneglects the cultivation of practical competence. There are considerable students whofind it uninteresting except those who want to be graduate students or find jobs relatedto linguistics study. In many colleges, the failing rate in English linguistics courseexams is relatively high. Those who failed considered it too profound and boring.Even worse, they thought it useless for improving English.As a result, many students are afraid of linguistics course. We could not helpreexamining the question: what is the aim of linguistics teaching?
