摘要:外国语言习得的研究表明,言语交际中,人们往往交替使用两种编码的语法规则和类型的基础上,心地善良的词汇短语为基础的抽样类型。

These ideas are illustrated by appearance of lexical chunks in our speech.In recent years, studies in linguistics are becoming increasingly aware of the lexical chunks inacquisition and use of language. Different scholars use different terminology when they referto lexical chunks. In early 1970s, Becker (1975) and Bolinger (1976) called this languagephenomenon "prefabricated chunks" (prefabricated chunks), Pawley & Syder (1983) used“lexicalized sentence stems”, and Nattinger & DeCarrico (1992) called them “lexicalphrases” (lexical, phrases), whereas Lewis (1997) called them “lexical items” and Wray(2000) used “stylized words” (formulaic sequences). The use of so many terms showssignificance of the study on language chunks and the diversity and complexity of thisphenomenon.

Conclusion


As impacted by objective factors and ability of the author, this study has many insufficiencies.The experiment was performed in the vocational high school that the author works, and its resultsmay not reflect overall circumstance of the vocational high schools. As school is different, thestudents’ learning levels, learning objectives, learner autonomy, and their interests and methodswill all be different, and the effect of training will likely be different too.The size of the sample is so small that it cannot generalize the rules for all the students. Dueto limitation of time and energy, the author has only tried two classes for this experiment.Secondly, the limited times of instruction may not produce enough change in students’ oralEnglish skills.
