摘要:本文是英语语言学论文,本文试图运用沃尔什的设定框架来分析促进语言教学与学习的互动所普通的缘故。本研究的目的是双重的:作为课堂教学的主要方面,在真实动态的英语课堂语言教学和学习中起着潜在的作用。

4.1 Analyzing the features of L2 classroom modes in the readinglessons

Based on Walsh’s SETT framework, this section aims to identify the characteristics ofL2 classroom modes according to specific interactional features used in the classroom.For analyzing the features of specific modes used in the classroom interaction, itexamines teachers’ language use for the achievement of different teaching objectivesin each mode. The division of modes is marked from both macro-mode andmicro-mode perspectives.According to the data analysis, there are three major modes in the macro modes: MM,Ms M and SSM, among which different interactional features will be identified toexamine the features of the specific modes.

Conclusion

Based on Walsh’s SETT framework, this study has analyzed features of differentmodes of interaction in each teaching stage that help achieve correspondingpedagogic goals based on the use of specific classroom language. Furthermore, thethesis has examined how teachers create opportunities for learning through theirchoices of different language use. Through an overall analysis of the classroominteraction in the English reading classes, this thesis has successfully fulfilled the twodesigned research questions and draws an conclusion by summarizing the majorfindings, illustrating the pedagogic implications, pointing out the limitation andputting forward possible future improvements.The aims of the study are to demonstrate the features of L2 classroom modes andexamine how teachers can play a predominant role in creating opportunities forlearning by the ways in which they use specific interactional features and by offeringdetailed interactional practices as well as through getting a closer understanding of therelationship between pedagogical goals and language use to achieve them. Inaccordance with the results and discussions of the research, the findings of the presentstudy are mainly summarized as follows:As regards the pedagogical functions of L2 classroom modes in the two readinglessons, the findings fall into two major categories based on the classification of thedifferent modes of interaction in the study: macro modes and micro modes.
