4.1 Linguistic Features of Pragmatic Vagueness in the Language Used in Press Conference on the Disputes of South China Sea 

The pragmatic vagueness has various forms in verbal communication. From the standpoint  of  linguistic  structure,  the  pragmatic  vagueness  has  no  unified  linguistic expressions,  but  is  realized  at  every  possible  level  of  structure.  Whether  the vagueness  is  realized  from  the  grammatical  level  to  semantic  level  or  on  the pragmatic level, if only it is loose talk under the meta-awareness or with some plans, consciousness  and  proposes,  they  all  belong  to  pragmatic  vagueness  called  by  Hou Guojin (2005:41-47).
