lear some words, and the speed of some listening material is fast and we cannot follow it. This is because during the fast language current there occurs the phonetic change, such as weak form, assimilation,1iaison and so on in oral English because of the context. But some students can’t recognize these phenomena and they may make mistakes in the listening comprehension. Many words are hardly to identify in sentences or passages because of weak form. Generally speaking, article, auxiliary verb, preposition, the change of verb ending are difficult to recognize, so the students can’t understand the content, which they hear completely but cannot understand them correctly. For example, “Mr. Brown is a good driver and his wife is just like him”,there are three choices in the following:
A:Mr. Brown is a good driver.
B:Mrs. Brown likes Mr. Brown.
C:Mrs. Brown is a good driver, too.
Because the second “is” is weak form, most students can’t catch it, and give rise to choose the wrong answer B. Besides this, sometimes students mistake two or more words into one word because of assimilation, sometimes, students fail to catch the words for not being fully exploded.
iii.The influence of failing to catch the information concluded in phonemes
As a kind of auxiliary communication method, tone, speaking speed, stress and volume play an important role especially in daily dialogue, because all of these often reflect the attitude, opinion and mood of a speaker or the relationship between the speakers. But sometimes students aren’t aware of this point; they may misunderstand the original passage after they listen to the tape, for example:
M:If you don’t have an account here,I can’t cash your cheque. I am sorry but that's the way it is.
W:Well, thanks a lot! You are a big help.
The woman feels ____.
A. thankful B. bit annoyed C. sorry
The correct answer of this question is B.本

But most students just judge the answer by literal meaning. In fact, the tone of the woman is ironic. So A is wrong. The information beyond phonetic often implies the attitude and mood of a speaker.
III.The Influence of Special Sentence Patterns
People use different sentences with different targets in different occasions. Sometimes they use some special sentence patterns, and we can’t know the meaning by literal meaning. We should ponder over the meaning of the sentence when we run across in listening comprehension. But students are not familiar with these sentence patterns, on the other hand, in most students’ opinion, the speed of speakers is very fast, especially in some remote country areas. They have not enough time to prepare, so it is difficult for them to listen clearly and understand what they have heard. This is a factor, which impacts listening comprehension.
i.Special use of some verbs
Let’s read some examples. (1) intend, plan, mean, think, suppose, want, promise, hope, expect etc . They are followed by perfect aspect of to-infinitive, it expresses that the subjects haven’t to do something in the past, e.g.: (a) I planned to have told you about that, but you were having a meeting then. (b) He meant to have visited the doctor. (c) He promised to have given me a hand, but he didn’t. (d) I hope to have come but was prevented from doing so.
ii.Special use of some sentence structures
(1) Use
