Assessing Management on Culturally Diverse Workgroups: A Project Team Case
1. Aspects of the Research
1.1Main issue
Management of intercultural communication within the context of Chinese-German project team. To be specific, the research tries to look at how cultural differences influence management of communication and thus have further effect on intercultural communication effectiveness.

1.3Facts of Problem
 The very different attitudes between Chinese and German members toward leaders' decision during project work process raises the management difficulties.
 Differences during project team also blocks the management of approaches to task
 Conflict in daily working process is another aspect of the teamwork management focus.
 Conflict resolution style should be emphasized so as to achieve more effective management of workgroup.

 Knowing about cultural background and people's mindset while avoiding the negative guiding effect of stereotype and prejudice.
 Listening is an indispensable management skill.
 Adjusting to different management styles.

The study used qualitative research. Specifically speaking, a case study is made in order to focus the topic within a particular example, i.e. a Chinese-German project team. Constant Comparison Method (CCM) serves as the analysis method of interview transcription and surveys with the team members.
 As the team project under discussion had already been completed when the author started the research in Germans. Data was only available through after-event comments of the participants on the whole teamwork and how they perceive that as well as what kind of differences in group daily communication they noticed during the process of working together.
 In the case study,data was collected through interview and survey. Based on the framework of Effective intercultural workgroup management model and some preliminary knowledge about the selected team, a set of interview and survey questions were designed according to three categories, namely, group input, group process and group output. Each question is assigned to bear certain research significance.
