1. Taking an exhibition of your choice analyse its aims and objectives (whether stated or otherwise) and evaluate its success in meeting them.
2. To what extent is it possible for an exhibition on a contemporary designer to have a critical perspective on its subject matter? Compare and contrast two exhibitions of your choice with this question in mind.
3. Can an exhibition satisfy the requirements of a visitor to whom its subject and content is unfamiliar as well of those of a visitor who is already immersed in its subject matter?
4. Is it preferable that a museum's programme of exhibitions and activities should seek to set a strong and clear agenda, or that it should try to cater for the broad interests of its audience?
5. Should a Design Museum value an object as much for its practicality (ease of manufacture, ease of use, sustainability etc.) as for its appearance? What can be done to encourage the visitor to weigh up such issues in a museum environment?
6. Devise a programme of educational activities to accompany a forthcoming Design Museum exhibition - or an exhibition past or present of your choice - outlining for whom the events/activities are intended and the desired outcomes.
7. "A good exhibition programme will sell itself. The money spent on marketing would be better spent on the exhibitions themselves." Discuss.
8. Is it possible for exhibitions to maintain curatorial independence while reliant on sponsorship?
