Especially in the past three decades, production and operations have been expanding and production and service processes become increasingly complex with the knowledge-intensive technologies continue improving. Demands are increasingly diverse and varied. These factors change the operation and management. The rapid development of information technology adds a new powerful tool for the operation management. It is critical for managers to understand the significant function on operation management.

Operation management involves the entire production and business activities such as, decision-making, planning, organization, control, coordination, and incentives of corporate members of to achieve its mission and objectives.
