The dissertation forms part of the requirements for the MSc Management. This handbook outlines the requirements of your MSc Management dissertation and how to approach it. The purpose of the project is to enable you to develop the concepts and techniques acquired during the MSc programme in addressing a management problem or issue.
1. What is an MSc Management dissertation?
The dissertation comprises written work of approximately 15,000 - 20,000 words in length, which is based upon a programme of primary or secondary research which you have conducted yourself. The dissertation should not simply ‘describe’ a company, organization or institution, although aspects of the dissertation may well include company information such as financial information or product/marketing information. Examiners will seek to award good grades to students who specifically address the following:
• Clear, concise summary of the purpose, scope and findings of the dissertation.
• Demonstration of initiative in pursuing the objectives of the study.
