Abstract
The rapid rise of China’s power and influence in world affairs, made US concerned. In order to show its friendly, China changed its policies on many fields. These measures made some countries feel a little security, but America still extended outposts and placed pressure points on US from China’s surrounding.
Regarding US-China relations, there have three views in America. The first, some specialists agree that the improvements in US-Chinese relations has reinforced Beijing’s moderate trend in policy toward Asia. The second view explains this improvement largely on the basis of a change in Bush administration attitudes rather than a change in China’s approach. The third view acknowledged Chinese moderation and accommodation in the face of Bush administration firmness played a key role in encouraging the upswing of relations in 2001-03.
The different position on some international affairs, made the US-China relations changeable. Compared with conflict, cooperation is more often. But the major breakthrough toward strategic cooperation is unlikely.
