　　批评话语分析（CDA），也叫批评语言学（CL）在20世纪80年代首先在英国蓬勃发展。这是一个多学科的话语分析的方法，其中包括许多学科，如语言学，社会学，政治学，媒体研究等Critical discourse analysis （CDA）, also called critical linguistics （CL）boomed firstlyin Britain in the 1980s. It is a multidisciplinary methodology on discourse analysis, whichconsists of many disciplines, such as linguistics, sociology, politics, media studies etc. Byanalyzing the language features of the discourse and the relative social and historicalbackground knowledge of the described story, the study of CDA can indicate the subtlerelations between language, power and ideology. In terms of critical linguistics, discourse isregarded as the result of narrator’s choices between the two aspects of form structure andideology sense. So the survey to the formation, transmission and acceptance of discourse isspecially emphasized in terms of CDA,https://www.51lunwen.org/zhixiwenhuachayi/ meanwhile it mainly pays attention to the ideas andopinions which are usually taken for granted and neglected because of people’s accustomingconsideration. For that reason, the present study applies some theories and methods in the fieldof CDA to undertake a qualitative analysis partly combined with a quantitative analysis aboutthe selected news reports from four different English media on the same event. Throughcomparing the different linguistic usage and language features among the four media, thisresearch helps to demonstrate that language is used to indicate power and ideology, whiledifferent ideologies may influence different language usage as well as impose power to theothers.Critical Discourse Analysis aims to reveal how language is applied in a particularly way todescribe the people and events in the world so as to transmit an influential effect on theaddressees. It concerns about the way how discourses establish social identity, social relations,system of knowledge and belief, and more importantly how discourse preserve power throughimposing their ideological property on the others (Fairclough, 1989). In the current trend of theincreasing globalization, the exchange and cooperation of information are indispensible for allthe participants in the active international contexts. As a result, the mass media plays a moreand more profound role in the transmission and exchange of information among the membersof the global village. However, except the cooperation, there are more and more latentcompetitions about economics, politics and cultures which may be indicated through theclashes of ideology in different media. Therefore, CDA becomes a very appropriate method todistinguish different ideologies and the dominant power indicated in different media discourses.With the help of CDA, this research is just to expose different countries’ ideologies and theintentional power in coping with the international affaires so as to arouse the readers’awareness and critical comprehension in absorbing information from various media.In the review of the previous studies of CDA, there are many linguistic researchers suchas Fowler (1979), Kress (1979), Fairclough (1989), Xin Bin (2005)etc. who focus on analyzingdifferent discourses as the surveying data.
