To realize my childhood dream, I decide to study in the University of XX

The most famous saying of John Kennedy as “My fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country” flames together with my dream—strive to be a professional journalist. It was this faith that pushed me to successfully transfer from Political Science & Public Administration to Communication; also, it is this firm belief that encourages me to stride bravely toward my dream university: Ma in Journalism in University of XX. I admire it a lot for its far-reaching reputation, its scientific teaching style, as well as its course setting.

To my knowledge, the University of XX is among the most prestigious universities in the world. What attracts me most is that it will take me only one year to study in class. Then I will be allowed to take internships or activities outside school, which complies well with my major to lean more towards practices.Besides, the University of XX has its majors presented in the ways of Chinese.

It is more practical and interesting. And it can help me gain some deeper insights as well. Moreover, although I major in journalism, the University of XX also has some optional courses on mass Media, the development of communication, and some political and marketing issues, etc.

My previous academic achievements show that I have the essential qualifications of majoring in Journalism

Ever since I was a kid, my parents have been encouraging me to read a wide range of books, which well develops me a habit of reading and the talent of writing. To become a journalist is my dream from childhood. Therefore, as a senior student in Journalism School, Xiamen University, I have been through tougher experience than other students for entering a major which I have no interest in. To pursue my clear dream and dig out my true potential, I decided to work double time to transfer to the Dept. of Communication. So when I was successfully did it, I was so excited that I decided to work harder so that I can catch up with my classmates. I received “A” in many courses such as Intercultural Communication, Political Communication, Mass Media and Culture and Teaching Intern. And in courses like Spread and Development of New Media, Principles and Applications of Network News Media, Media and Society and Organizational Communication, I received “A-”, which was also a relatively high score for professors were very strict and rigorous. Gradually I mastered methods of studying, and insisted self-study until twelve o’clock every day. Then I witnessed my grade point in Grade three increasing to 3.65, which pushed me to the seventh in the class ranking, and added me more confidence to move on.
