For Euthanasia

The term of Euthanasia means “easy death”, “a good death,” “dying well” that comes from Greek word. It is one of the most controversial subjects today.
 
People who choose euthanasia should satisfy several requirements. Firstly, the patient must be suffering of dying and cannot be cured. Secondly, there must be the patient’s wills or agreement made when the patient is in sober-minded state. In addition, the purpose of euthanasia is to lift patients suffering rather than reduce the burden of relatives, country and social. Finally, the operation of euthanasia should be done by professional doctor.

At present, euthanasia is illegal throughout the world apart from Netherlands and Belgium. The state of Oregon in America is the first place recognizing legal of euthanasia, where there is a law specifically allowing doctors to prescribe lethal drugs for the purpose of euthanasia. Netherlands, however, is the first country recognizing legal of euthanasia and Belgium following up. Many people, around the world, are claiming the government should recognize the legal of euthanasia, however also many people resolutely oppose it, which they think directly or indirectly causing other people dying cannot be accept in moral.

The difference between active and passive euthanasia is the crucial for medical ethics. Although we know that it may be permissible in some cases to withhold treatment and allow a patient to die, we can never permissible to take any direct action to bring about that death.

Everyone has only one life, in my opinion, no matter what choice the patients choose, we should respect his decision, because everyone has right to decide whether to live or not. I think, however, euthanasia without patients’ agreement is illegal, which should be forbidden.
